Meet Our Advisors
Doug Wier
I have been in the financial services business since 1983 when I sold my first life insurance policy. Working in the industry for 40 years I have developed a passion for enhancing the financial health of my clients. In addition, I have developed financial expertise through years of experience and receiving the professional designations CLU® and ChFC® from the American College of Financial Services. In 1998, I started Bettendorf Financial Group as an independent firm where I can put quality of service as one of the top priorities. I am proud that I have been able to serve my clients well and many of my clients have been with me for more than 40 years. I receive great satisfaction from the trust and loyalty my clients have placed in me. We have two grown sons that are still in the area. Sheila and I enjoy traveling in our motor home, spending time in our second home in Colorado and as lifelong dog lovers we have dogs that keep us busy.

I am a Financial Advisor acting as a fiduciary for my clients. In addition to meeting my client’s investment and financial needs, I am also responsible for developing portfolios for Bettendorf Financial Group. I am originally from Massachusetts and live with my wife, Janette, and our son, Justin, in Bettendorf. My wife and I are active in the bicycling community as volunteers, advocates, riders, and occasional racers. Janette is also pickleball leader, trainer, and competitor.
Todd Harris
I have been in the financial services industry since I graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in economics. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago where I started out as a financial advisor but was quickly recruited to become a wholesaler. I was a wholesaler of financial products for about 6 years before realizing the travel involved was keeping me away from my family. It was in 2006 that I made the move to the Quad Cities and began working at at an agency selling life and health insurance while still doing financial services through Bettendorf Financial Group. Over the years, I have continued to expand my knowledge base of the industry and in May of 2016, I earned my AIF® designation. In July of 2018, I made the decision to move over to Bettendorf Financial Group to work full time as a financial advisor. My wife Sara and I have 6 kids together who keep us very busy. We currently live at Fyre Lake in Sherrard, IL and enjoy our weekends boating and fishing on the lake. I also enjoy any chance I get to be out on the golf course.

As a Navy veteran I am committed to service. Upon retirement from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service I was looking for a place that I could continue to serve. Bettendorf Financial Group’s commitment to clients impressed me from the start. I joined the team to help clients with their comprehensive financial plans and completed the training for the professional designations CLU and ChFC. Outside of Financial Planning one of my interests is travel and the Navy took me to 80 countries and all 50 states. I have interests in international politics, food and culture. In addition to financial advice I can also discuss domestic and international travel topics. Lastly, I am impressed with the Quad Cities rich maritime history and connection to the Mississippi river.

Since starting with Bettendorf Financial Group in 2014, I have worn many hats. As I have obtained Insurance and securities licenses, my role has evolved to Financial Advisor. Along with the rest of the BFG team, I love working with our clients to help them realize their financial goals through life’s changes and market shifts.
While working at BFG, I graduated in 2018, with honors, from Augustana College with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Finance. This, along with my industry training, experience and licensing, allows me to help clients further their financial planning goals. I live in Moline with my husband Greg, our son Gregory, and our dog, Gizmo. We enjoy hiking, camping and cycling as a family.

Throughout my career, I have prided myself on providing service to others. This mindset has allowed me to help clients achieve their financial goals, both during their career and into retirement.

After being a Bettendorf Financial Group client for several years, I decided to make a career change and join the team with my sights on helping clients achieve their financial goals as a Financial Advisor. While serving in the Army Reserves, I completed studies at the University of Iowa to obtain my BBA in Finance in 2006. Prior to joining BFG, I worked as the Director of Finance at Kent Nutrition Group.
I currently live in Muscatine with plans of moving to the Quad Cities in the near future. I enjoy playing golf, disc golf, cycling, and watching Chicago Blackhawks hockey and Premier League Soccer.
